Laoliulu Taijiquan comprises a total of 88 steps of physical movements, grouped in 6 sets. These steps focus in the practise of the inner energy (内功) using elements such as spirit, mind, and energy (神意气) to control bodily movement. The guiding principle is to regard our hand as handless, and let spirit and mind lead our movements.
Objective of learning inner energy of Taiji is to transform bodily essence. The abundance of essence will transform into Qi (气) energy and be stored in the kidneys. This energy force will keep the body functioning normally, inclusive of reproduction function, and provide immunity against illnesses.
